The Computer Society Faculty of Science University of Jaffna in collaboration with the Career Guidance Cell of the Faculty of Science organized a programme titled “The Entrepreneurial Mindset: Human Skills for a High-Tech World” on 07th January 2026 from 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the Auditorium, Department of Computer Science.
The programme was conducted for students of the Faculty of Science with the objective of enhancing students’ understanding of the importance of human and entrepreneurial skills in an increasingly technology-driven and AI-powered world.
The resource person for the session was Arjuna Swaminathan, Chief AI Officer and former IBM Principal. He delivered an insightful and engaging session focusing on the role of communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience in achieving professional success in the modern global workforce.
The session highlighted several important areas, including:
- Understanding the role of human skills in an AI-driven world
- Learning practical communication skills for professional success
- Building confidence, empathy, and resilience for a global career
During the programme, students were encouraged to develop entrepreneurial thinking, strengthen interpersonal skills, and embrace lifelong learning to remain competitive in rapidly evolving technological environments.
A total of 41 students from the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions and interactive activities conducted during the session.
The programme served as a valuable platform for students to gain insights into the future of work and the importance of balancing technological expertise with essential human skills.
