The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna successfully organized the “Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series” on 28th January 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Library Auditorium.
The programme was conducted for students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with the objective of enhancing students’ preparedness and performance in competitive examinations.
The resource person for the session was Sivapathasundrampillai Navaneethan, Deputy Director of Education (Mathematics), Provincial Department of Education, Northern Province. He conducted an insightful session on Aptitude, focusing on problem-solving techniques, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and examination strategies commonly required in competitive examinations.
During the session, participants were introduced to various aptitude-related concepts and practical methods to improve speed, accuracy, and confidence in answering examination questions. The interactive nature of the lecture encouraged students to actively engage in discussions and problem-solving activities.
A total of 40 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and benefited from the guidance and practical knowledge shared during the session.
The lecture series served as a valuable platform for students to strengthen their aptitude skills and improve their readiness for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.
