Introduction Session: Champions Skills Development Programme for First-Year Faculty of Arts Students

The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna, in collaboration with Otthulaippu, organized the “Introduction Session: Champions Skills Development Programme for First-Year Faculty of Arts Students” on 23rd January 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. through Zoom.
The programme was conducted with the objective of introducing first-year students to the Champions Skills Development Programme and creating awareness about the importance of personal development, career readiness, and essential employability skills during university life.
The session was facilitated by Mr. K. Gauthaman, Career Guidance Counselor of the University of Jaffna. During the session, students were introduced to the objectives, structure, and benefits of the programme, as well as the importance of developing communication, leadership, teamwork, and professional skills for their future careers.
A total of 170 first-year students from the Faculty of Arts participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions and interactive activities conducted throughout the session.
The introduction session served as a valuable platform to motivate students to actively participate in skills development initiatives and make effective use of the opportunities available to enhance their academic, personal, and professional growth.
