SUMMARY:Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series
DESCRIPTION:The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna successfully organized the “Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series” on 04th March 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Library Auditorium. \nThe programme was conducted for students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with the aim of enhancing students’ preparedness for competitive examinations and improving their general awareness and analytical thinking abilities. \nThe resource person for the session was S. Kogilan\, Teacher at J/ Chavakachcheri Hindu College\, who conducted an informative lecture on General Knowledge. The session focused on important topics commonly covered in competitive examinations\, including current affairs\, social awareness\, and effective preparation techniques. \nDuring the session\, students were encouraged to improve their reading habits\, critical thinking abilities\, and awareness of national and international developments in order to perform effectively in competitive examinations. \nA total of 47 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions and learning activities conducted during the session. \nThe lecture series provided a valuable platform for students to strengthen their knowledge\, improve their confidence\, and prepare effectively for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.

SUMMARY:Exploring Career Pathways in the Pharmaceutical Industry
DESCRIPTION:The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna organized a programme titled “Exploring Career Pathways in the Pharmaceutical Industry” on 28th March 2026 from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at Lecture Hall I\, Faculty of Medicine. \nThe programme was conducted for students and staff members of the Department of Pharmacy\, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences with the objective of creating awareness about career opportunities and professional pathways within the pharmaceutical sector. \nThe event featured experienced professionals from different areas of the pharmaceutical industry who shared valuable practical knowledge and career guidance with the participants. \nGalkande Mudiyanselage Chamara Bandara Galkanda from the National Medicines Regulatory Authority conducted a session on Career Guidance in Regulatory Affairs\, highlighting the role of regulatory professionals in ensuring the safety\, quality\, and effectiveness of medicines and medical products. \nChamara Madhusanka Diviyagahage from the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka delivered a session on Career Guidance in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing\, introducing participants to production processes\, industrial standards\, and career opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. \nVimalarajah Muraleeson from Sands Active conducted a session on Career Guidance in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing of Medicine\, focusing on production operations\, packaging procedures\, quality assurance practices\, and workplace expectations in the pharmaceutical sector. \nA total of 62 students and staff members participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions and interactive sessions conducted throughout the event. \nThe programme served as a valuable platform for participants to gain industry exposure\, understand career opportunities in the pharmaceutical field\, and interact with professionals working in different sectors of the industry.
