DESCRIPTION:The Otthulaippu organized a “Training Session under the Champions Skills Development Programme Conducted by Batch VI\, Faculty of Hindu Studies” on 08th February 2026 from 1.00 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. at the Physics Mini Auditorium. \nThe programme was conducted for first-year students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Hindu Studies with the objective of promoting peer learning\, leadership development\, communication\, and teamwork through student-led training activities. \nThe training sessions were facilitated by the following student trainers from Batch VI\, Faculty of Hindu Studies: \n\nMoorthy Nirojika\nKanes Manjula\nThiruppathi Santhosa\nNagasuntharam Thanarupy\nThevaseelan Kenusa\nSiththiravelayutham Vaishnavi\n\nThe session included interactive activities and discussions designed to enhance students’ personal development\, confidence\, communication skills\, and collaborative learning abilities. Participants were encouraged to actively engage with peers and develop leadership qualities through practical learning experiences. \nA total of 50 first-year students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Hindu Studies participated in the programme and actively engaged in the training activities conducted during the session. \nThe programme served as a valuable platform for peer mentoring and experiential learning while encouraging students to strengthen their interpersonal and leadership skills.

DESCRIPTION:The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna organized the “Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series” on 11th February 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Library Auditorium. \nThe programme was conducted for students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with the aim of improving students’ preparedness for competitive examinations and enhancing their general awareness and analytical thinking abilities. \nThe resource person for the session was S. Kogilan\, Teacher at J/ Chavakachcheri Hindu College\, who conducted an informative lecture on General Knowledge. The session focused on important topics commonly covered in competitive examinations\, including current affairs\, social awareness\, and effective examination preparation strategies. \nParticipants were encouraged to improve their reading habits\, critical thinking skills\, and awareness of national and international developments to enhance their performance in competitive examinations. \nA total of 33 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and actively engaged in the discussions and learning activities conducted during the session. \nThe lecture series provided a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen their knowledge\, improve their confidence\, and prepare effectively for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.

DESCRIPTION:The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna successfully organized the “Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series” on 18th February 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Library Auditorium. \nThe programme was conducted for students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with the objective of strengthening students’ skills and preparedness for competitive examinations. \nThe resource person for the session was Sivapathasundrampillai Navaneethan\, Deputy Director of Education (Mathematics)\, Provincial Department of Education\, Northern Province. He conducted an engaging lecture on Aptitude\, focusing on logical reasoning\, analytical thinking\, problem-solving techniques\, and examination strategies commonly required in competitive examinations. \nDuring the session\, participants were introduced to practical methods for improving speed\, accuracy\, and confidence in answering aptitude-based questions. The interactive discussions and exercises provided students with valuable exposure to examination-oriented problem-solving approaches. \nA total of 41 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and actively engaged in the learning activities conducted during the session. \nThe lecture series served as an important platform for students to improve their aptitude skills and enhance their readiness for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.

Students were introduced to effective comprehension techniques\, time management strategies\, and methods for answering questions accurately and efficiently. \nParticipants actively engaged in the discussions and practical exercises conducted during the session\, which helped improve their understanding and confidence in handling comprehension-based examination questions. \nA total of 45 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and benefited from the knowledge and guidance shared during the session. \nThe lecture series served as a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen their examination skills and enhance their readiness for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.
