The Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna organized the “Competitive Exams Preparation – Lecture Series” on 25th February 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at the Library Auditorium.
The programme was conducted for students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with the objective of improving students’ competencies and preparedness for competitive examinations.
The resource person for the session was A. K. Keerthirajan, Development Officer at the Divisional Secretariat – Nallur, who conducted an informative lecture on Comprehension. The session focused on developing reading, interpretation, and analytical skills required for competitive examinations. Students were introduced to effective comprehension techniques, time management strategies, and methods for answering questions accurately and efficiently.
Participants actively engaged in the discussions and practical exercises conducted during the session, which helped improve their understanding and confidence in handling comprehension-based examination questions.
A total of 45 students from the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science participated in the programme and benefited from the knowledge and guidance shared during the session.
The lecture series served as a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen their examination skills and enhance their readiness for future competitive examinations and career opportunities.
